We refer to this as our ‘Rustic’ Reclaimed York Stone Paving, it's our best value range of Reclaimed Flagstones. Generally, these stones aren’t sourced from indoor spaces like our Regular or Premium reclaimed stone. Instead they tend to come from high streets, back streets and other large city settings where they have seen that bit more life and footfall. 

It’s always genuine York Stone though, no matter where we find it. Over the centuries York Stone has been transported down to the south in huge quantities, so you’re just as likely to have walked along a York Stone street in London as in York. 

This popularity was born from its combination of attractive looks and incredibly durable nature, and the riven, weathered face which gives reclaimed York Stone paving its character is even more abundant in our budget reclaimed stones. 100 years of life outdoors in busy streets is on display, and because there tends to be little chips and colour variations we make this our best value option. But the stone itself is of the same quality and has come from the very same place. 

Typically, the thickness of our rustic reclaimed York Stone paving will vary between 40-130mm, but we would ask you to allow a bit extra for tolerance just in case. A pointing gap of about 8-15mm should be spot on. Because the stones are reclaimed the length and width will always be completely random. In terms of maintaining your stone, we’d advise exactly the same as we do for all our stone. If you’re laying it in a high traffic area or somewhere with lots of trees or foliage, use a natural stone sealant to protect against staining. This will give it a bit more grip in wet weather too.
